April 2024 FANHS MUSEUM UPDATE

Mission: To promote the narrative of Filipino American experiences
through preservation, inspiration, and education.
 
FANHS Museum Open on Special Weekends!

The Museum will be opening one weekend a month on the following weekends, no appointment necessary!
April 13 & 14 -- 11 AM - 4 PM and May 4 & 5 -- 11 AM - 4 PM
 
We will also be open by appointments should there be additional visitor times and dates requested and volunteers are available.
 
As always, admission is by donation and any amount is appreciated! If you are a Museum Member, admission is free!

The FANHS Museum Presents “Afternoon at the Museum” Speaker Series
 
“Songs of the Sun: Filipino Folk Songs for the Musical Classroom”

Come play, sing, and dance to songs from the Philippines! In this active music-making session, Tiffany Unarce Barry will share songs and activities from her book, "Songs of the Sun: Filipino Folk Songs for the Musical Classroom".
 
You will also learn about her efforts to rename a major street in downtown San José after the Filipino American labor rights leader Larry Itliong.
 
Tiffany Unarce Barry is a Filipino American performer, presenter, published author, and educator. She is currently a lecturer in Music Education at Sac State and San José State University. She is also lead female vocalist and a violinist for the dance orchestra and swing band, Symphonia Phonotone.
