[Partner] SF Bay Area Community Forum with Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros

Lone opposition Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros will be in the San Francisco Bay Area to meet and talk with kababayans about the important role of overseas Filipinos to make democracy relevant in the Philippines.

Senator Hontiveros is known as a staunch advocate for health, women, and LGBTQ+ rights, having crafted laws such as the Expanded Maternity Leave Law, the Safe Streets and Public Spaces Law, the HIV and AIDS Policy Law, and the Philippine Mental Health Law. She also co-sponsored and co-authored the Universal Health Care Act.

Under a Marcos presidency, Senator Hontiveros is the highest-ranking opposition figure, and leads to ensure a genuine Senate minority bloc, and the independence of the Senate.
