The 23rd Annual Parol Lantern Festival & Parade returns to light up the heart of SOMA Pilipinas with hope, joy, and bayanihan. Presented by SOMA Pilipinas and the Filipino American Development Foundation, this free, family-friendly celebration honors the parol, a radiant symbol of light and resilience in Filipino culture

This year’s Parol Festival and Tala Awards theme is “MAKIBAKA: Ignite the Fight, Light Up Our Legacy”, a rallying call to fight, rise, and shine amidst hardship and harm

Experience a festive lineup featuring the Taste of Christmas, Parol Stroll, Tala Awards, Parol Gallery, and the MAKIBAKA: A Living Legacy exhibition—all celebrating the creativity and strength of our community. Leading up to the big day, join our free Parol-Making Workshops at YBCA to craft your own lantern and march with us in the parade.
