This milestone is the result of the unwavering efforts of Manang Rozita Villanueva Lee, a beloved and trailblazing community leader, former NaFFAA National Vice Chair, and a recipient of The Outstanding Filipinos in America (TOFA) award. For years, Manang Rozita tirelessly championed the vision of a Filipino cultural district—organizing, lobbying, and building coalitions to ensure that the vibrant Filipino American presence in Las Vegas is honored and visible.

The strength of a community lies in its unity and perseverance,” said Gloria Caoile, labor advocate and co-founder of NaFFAA. “FILIPINO TOWN in Las Vegas stands as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and vibrant spirit of our Filipino and Filipino American community. With our significant presence in healthcare, education, business and more, we contribute to what makes Las Vegas a truly diverse and great city. Together, we build not just neighborhoods, but legacies.

NaFFAA Desert Mountain Regional President Sally Balecha echoed this sentiment, adding a deeply personal reflection: “I moved to Las Vegas in 2000 with my family, hopeful for new opportunities and a better future. Now, with a growing family and a granddaughter, the approval of a Filipino Town in Las Vegas is especially meaningful. It’s more than just a location—it represents our culture, our contributions, and the strength of our community. This is a proud moment for all of us and a lasting legacy for future generations.

With over 250,000 Filipinos calling Las Vegas home, the establishment of FILIPINO TOWN not only celebrates a rich cultural legacy but also creates a space to uplift local businesses, including beloved community staples such as Seafood City and Jollibee. More importantly, it provides a permanent venue for cultural events, community gatherings, and civic engagement for future generations.

“The establishment of Filipino Town is a powerful affirmation of our identity, heritage, and place in the Las Vegas story,” said Jacque de Joya, President of NaFFAA Nevada. “It will be a vibrant corridor where our community can thrive. NaFFAA Nevada is proud to have worked alongside community leaders to help make this vision a reality.”

NaFFAA congratulates the Filipino American community of Las Vegas on this extraordinary achievement. This moment is a victory for every Filipino who has worked to build a life in this city—and a powerful tribute to the enduring spirit, vision, and leadership of Manang Rozita Lee.
