Honor Our Nurses on Capitol Hill

The Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award bestowed by Congress, has never been awarded to the nurses who saved tens of thousands of lives during WWII.  They endured hunger, disease, constant bombing, imprisonment and even death.  S.2195 and H.R. 4901 seek to rectify this injustice by honoring all nurses who served in the U.S. Navy and Army Corps during WWII.  The panel discussion will be led by Brig. General Clara Adams-Ender, USA (Ret), the 18th Chief of the Army Nurse Corps with CAPT Judy Brinckerhoff, Navy Nurse Corps (Ret) whose mother was a WWII Nurse and award-winning author/journalist Liza Mundy whose book about WWII Nurses will soon be published.
