Step into Rhythm.
Step into Community.
Step into Living Tradition.
This May at the International Hotel Manilatown Center, we invite you into the resonant world of Kulintang, a traditional gong-based music from the Southern Philippines rooted in communication, community, and celebration.
Whether you're a music lover, a curious first-timer, or simply looking to reconnect with heritage roots, this welcoming workshop is for you. No prior musical experience is needed — just an open heart and a readiness to learn.
Led by the Manilatown Ancestral Ensemble, this interactive session introduces participants to foundational rhythms, cultural context, and hands-on practice with traditional kulintang ensemble instruments.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will:
• Learn foundational kulintang rhythms
• Play together in an ensemble setting
• Experience music through listening, repetition, and shared practice
• Explore cultural context grounded in tradition
No prior experience is needed. Just come as you are.
This is not just a class — it is a living practice. A space to:
• reconnect with rhythm
• engage culture with care
• learn in relationship with others
Held at the historic International Hotel Manilatown Center, this workshop continues a legacy of community, cultural expression, and perseverance.
