FAJCC to Host 3rd Induction Gala and Celebrate Filipino American Achievements on July 26
/Jacksonville, FL – July 11, 2025 – The Filipino American Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce (FAJCC) proudly announces its 3rd Induction Gala, to be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the UNF Adam Herbert University Center. The evening will honor the chamber’s newly elected officers and board members while celebrating notable Filipino American achievements and launching impactful new initiatives.
As a prelude to the main event, FAJCC invites the public to a Vendor Trade Show from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, featuring a variety of local vendors and creatives—including 12-year-old entrepreneur Isla Canete, who will showcase her original handmade creations. The trade show is free and open to the public.
“This gala marks a significant milestone for FAJCC as we continue to build a strong and vibrant Filipino American business community in Jacksonville,” said Arthur Bides, President of FAJCC. “It’s also a celebration of the individuals and programs that reflect our community’s spirit of excellence, service, and innovation.”
Honoring Excellence
One of the evening’s highlights will be the recognition of Craig McFarland, an exemplary Filipino American scholar. Craig is an incoming graduate student at the University of Oxford, pursuing an M.Sc in Neuroscience as a Clarendon Scholar and Harvard-UK Fellow. A Valedictorian of Stanton College Preparatory School, Craig also earned a B.A. from Harvard College with Highest Honors in Neuroscience, and was awarded the Detur Book Prize and named a John Harvard Scholar. His remarkable academic journey serves as an inspiration to youth across communities.
Launch of IDEYA Youth Program
The gala will also mark the official launch of IDEYA (Innovative, Driven Entrepreneurs of Young America), a youth initiative introduced by FAJCC Chairman of the Board Cristina Comstock. IDEYA aims to develop young leaders through entrepreneurship, innovation, and civic engagement.
Programs and 2026 Goals
FAJCC will also spotlight several key programs during the gala, including:
• The FAJCC Scholarship Program, empowering Filipino American students
• The First Annual Pickleball Tournament, promoting health and camaraderie
• The Tagumpay Awards, recognizing excellence in Filipino American business, professional services, government, and nonprofit leadership
These initiatives are aligned with President Arthur Bides’ goals for 2026, which include:
• Strengthening youth programs and mentorship pipelines
• Expanding economic and networking opportunities for Filipino American entrepreneurs and professionals
• Increasing civic engagement and community representation
• Elevating the visibility and influence of the Filipino American community in Jacksonville and beyond
