A Filipina Navy officer, Maycee Angga, has been named best international studentat the Britannia Royal Naval College, the initial officer training establishment of the British Royal Navy, in Dartmouth, United Kingdom. Philippine Navy Ensign Angga bested 131 other naval officers from the UK, Albania, the Bahamas, Egypt, Libya, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates,and Ukraine, reports GMA News.

The former Philippine national team gymnasts, also wrestled, representing the Philippines at the 1952 games in Helsinki. One of the first Filipino American lawyers to practice in the U.S., he became one of the first Filipino Americans elected to a city council in 1972, eventually serving as mayor of Monterey Park, reports Balitang America.
