A Dallas police officer was scheduled to be taken off life support on the day he was supposed to marry his fiancée, according to friends. Hans Campbell, 28, had traveled to the Philippines to celebrate his birthday and marry Chriselyn Bedolido. But tragedy struck when he was hit by a boat while scuba diving and declared clinically dead, reports Yahoo news.

Filipina Weightlifter Wins Silver for PH in Rio Olympics

Filipino weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz handed the Philippines its first medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games early morning on Monday, Manila time. Diaz, who is competing in her third straight Olympics, took the silver medal in the women's 53-kg division won by Chinese Taipei's Hsu Shu-Ching.  Her silver is the Philippines' first medal since 1996, reports ABS-CBN News.
