PH Scientist Gets European Geosciences Union's Plinius Medal

Dr. Alfredo Mahar Lagmay, head or the Philippine government’s Project NOAH -- Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards -- received the Plinius Medal from the European Geosciences Union in Vienna for his “outstanding interdisciplinary natural-hazard research and natural-disaster engagement in the Philippines, particularly with respect to volcanic hazards, earthquakes, typhoons, landslides and floods,” reports Manila Standard Today.
