ASEAN IDs Two World Cup Players of Filipino Ancestry

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) identified two athletes in the ongoing World Cup in Brazil who have Filipino ancestry, reports Philstar.com. Jonathan de Guzman, born to a Jamaican mother and a Filipino father, plays for the Netherlands. Team USA goalkeeper Nick Rimando, meanwhile, has a Filipino father and a Mexican mother.

A map made by Bloomberg Businessweek shows the Philippines is the 6th biggest source of tech talent for Silicon Valley, “Asian Americans became the majority of the tech workforce there in 2010, and one-third of Valley startups “are founded by Indian Americans,” reports TechInvestorNews.
