Filmmaker Brillante Mendoza will be named a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by France, reports Inquirer.net. Ambassador Gilles Garachon said Mendoza personifies the rebirth of Philippine cinema.
