UC Berkley is hosting a book talk with journalist Patricia Evangelista on November 17, Saturday, 6pm at the Morrison Library. Join Evangelista and Department of South and Southeast Asian Studies faculty member Lisandro Claudio to learn more about Evangelista’s experiences reporting and writing this book, which the New Yorker’s David Remnick acclaimed as a “journalistic masterpiece,” and author Andrew Solomon noted, “reveals the nature of unbridled cruelty with an insightfulness that I have not encountered since the work of Hannah Arendt.” Details here

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of its citizenship collaborative, San Francisco is launching a series of events to encourage eligible green card holders to take advantage of the free resources available to apply for citizenship.

The AMPLIFY Fellowship builds on the lessons from the Laban Group’s  year 1 of work in providing training for aspiring journalists and media-makers by incentivizing youth engagement through a stipend, exposing youth to traditional media while also lifting up their emerging expertise as media makers (ranging from podcasts, print forms like ‘zines to digital forms like social media posts and short videos). Apply for this paid fellowship by November 15.
