University of the Philippines Diliman graduate Krysten Boado, 25, says she will not have a combat role as she has no military training, but will be involved in the preparation and distribution of supplies to frontline combatants (See GMA News for story).

Communities living close to the Philippine railway tracks in the province of Quezon use makeshift wooden push-trolleys as a common mode of transportation. Samboy de Leon Niala, 27, a high school teacher at the Tagkawayan National High School and his students in Humanities and Social Sciences do an outreach educational project on a trolley classroom to help kids in their community (See ABS-CBN for story).

Gwendolyne Pascua is currently the ground controller and operations lead at one of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) user service and operations centers located at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland, the Biotechnology Space Support Center (BIOTESC) (See Manila Bulletin for story).

Reaner Jacqueline Bool, Ghia Luwalhati and Nicole Elizabeth Tan
An all-women team from Batangas State University beat 124 other teams from around the world to win the top prize at UNESCO’s 2022 World Engineering Day Hackathon. Wonderpets, consisting of Reaner Jacqueline Bool, Ghia Luwalhati and Nicole Elizabeth Tan won the top prize for their solution to reduce water pollution (See Yahoo News for story).
