Reggie Cabutotan, a taxi driver from Baguio who returned the lost luggage of an Australian businessman last January, is now an app developer and is creating a transport app for Baguio tourists. Steven Raga
A large non-profit organization that has provided housing support since the 1970s has named a Filipino American as its new executive director. Woodside on the Move has tapped Steven Raga, who unsuccessfully ran in the District 26 Democratic primary in June, as its new executive director. (See Inquirer.net for story).
Angelo Quinto
An inquest jury on Aug. 20 ruled that Fil-Am Angelo Quinto’s death in the hands of police was accidental, after a medical pathologist testified that Quinto died from “excited delirium.” Quinto’s family and their lawyers called the ruling “nonsense” (See Inquirer.net for story).
A group of Filipino American artists’ works will be showcased at this year’s Texas Biennial. Titled “A New Landscape, A Possible Horizon,” the biennial launches in September and will be held across several Texas museums featuring exhibitions, programs and public art in San Antonio and Houston (See Inquirer.net for story).
