After being reelected as councilor for the third time in East Grinstead, West Sussex in the UK, Danny Favor, a Filipino nurse is the new town mayor of East Grinstead. Favor, an ophthalmic clinical nurse specialist at the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead,migrated to the UK in 2000, with his wife, who is also a nurse (ABS-CBN).

A Filipino Canadian owns what could be the world’s biggest natural pearl. The white and cream colored pearl from a giant clam was given to Abraham Reyes, 34, of Mississauga, as a family heirloom by his aunt some years ago, reports Inquirer.net.
