A Filipino law professor was appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council to the UN Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent. Prof. Ricardo Sunga III's appointment was confirmed on November 6 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. A Philippine-trained physical therapist is now the first Filipino to be on the medical staff of teams from the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball, reports GMA News. Leading the batch are incumbent Assembly Member Rob Bonta (District 18) who won re-election to the state legislative body, West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon and Milpitas Mayor Jose Esteves, who also won re-election.
