Four hip hop teams from the Philippines swept the Open Division of the recently concluded World Supremacy Battlegrounds (WSB) 2014 held in Melbourne, Australia, reports ABS-CBN News. Of the five spots in the Open Division, four went to the Philippine hip hop groups. This year's champion is dance crew FMD Extreme from the Philippines. The FMD Extreme was also last year's champion.

Tagalog 3rd Most Widely Spoken in US Households

A  US study has found that Tagalog is the third most widely spoken foreign language in households, following Spanish and Chinese, reports Inquirer.net. The 2013 American Community Survey (ACS) conducted by the US Census Bureau found that there were approximately 1.6 million speakers of Filipino, putting it third behind Spanish (38.4 million) and Chinese (3 million).

Over 49,000 UK visas were issued to Filipinos in the 12 months to March 2014, with a 27% growth in tourists and business visitors driving the increase in numbers, reports Gov.UK.
