A journalist in Saudi Arabia had a tearful reunion with her long-lost Filipino nanny after the news story on her search went viral on the Internet, reports Inquirer.net. A sister publication of Arab News, Sayidaty magazine, sponsored Rawan Radwan’s trip to Manila about a week ago. The report said Radwan lost contact with her nanny, Marie Luningning Bernardo- Bebit, in 1992.

Archivists at the US Naval History and Heritage Command in Washington, D.C. came across an unexpected treasure:  a wooden box filled with 150 original, never-before-seen glass plate photos from the Spanish-American war, including scenes of the war in the Philippines, reports Georgia Newsday.

Filipino-Spanish-American choreographer Napoleon D'umo and his wife, Tabitha, won the Outstanding Choreography award at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, reports ABS-CBN News. The pair won for their choreography in "So You Think You Can Dance," besting other veterans such as Derek Hough of "Dancing with the Stars" and their "So You Think You Can Dance" colleague Christopher Scott. Napoleon has always credited his Filipino heritage for his dancing talent. His father was originally from Baguio.

Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz’s five-and-a-half-hour epic “Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon (From What is Before)” won the top prize at the 67th Locarno International Film Festival, reports Inquirer.net. The awards ceremony was held in Switzerland.
