Remittance Growth Slows Down

Remittances from Filipinos abroad grew by 5.2 percent in April—the slowest pace so far this year—even as the demand for skilled Filipino workers in overseas job markets remained robust, reports Inquirer.net. Personal remittances grew slower compared with January’s 6.8-percent growth, according to the Central Bank.

First Month of Overseas Voter Registration Breaks Record

A “record breaking” number of overseas Filipino voters registrants during the first month of registration for the 2016 elections, says the Department of Foreign Affairs.
