Help Marawi #OgopMarawi

The Philippine Army, in partnership with local non-governmental organizations, launched a relief operation program for Marawi City, Philippines on June 13, 2017 called #OgopMarawi.

"Ogop" in the local language means help.

In addition to giving aid to the internally displaced people of Marawi City, the #OgopMarawi drive also aims to help boost the morale of our Filipino soldiers deployed in the city to fight the Maute terrorists.

In this regard, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco is inviting Filipinos in Northern California, Oregon, Washington State, Alaska, Northern Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana to send letters of support or postcards to our military troops back home.

These letters of support and postcards may be sent to the Consulate's address as seen below:

The Consulate will forward them to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines for onward transmittal to the Philippine Army and for distribution to our soldiers at the frontlines.

The Consulate will send the first batch of letters to Manila on Thursday, 10 August 2017.

Your share of letters of hope and love will go a long way in contributing to building a just and lasting peace in Mindanao.
